Subramanian Raja Krishnamoorthi[1] (/ˈrɑːdʒə ˌkrɪʃnəˈmʊərθi/ born July 19, 1973) is an American businessman and politician who is the U.S. Representative for Illinois’s 8th congressional district since 2017. He was elected to succeed Tammy Duckworth, who gave up the seat to successfully run for the U.S. Senate. Krishnamoorthi is a member of the Democratic Party and serves on the House Oversight Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. He is also Chairman of the Oversight Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy, and serves as an Assistant Whip and a member of the Speaker’s Steering and Policy Committee.[2][3]
